intolerant pedestrian

hah, so, yesterday emily and i are walking to my car, and we must have lingered at the entrance to one parking lot for a brief moment before i got emily’s attention and redirected her to the other lot where my car was parked. a car was waiting to pull in, and AS we’re walking out of the lot entrance onto the sidewalk, the dude in the passenger seat rolls down his window and is like “uh, you’re kind of in the driveway.”

?! oh good, ‘cos instead of walking away to let you pull in like it appeared that we were doing, we were planning to just stand there. but now that you’ve rolled down your window and made a helpful remark, now we know we’re standing in the driveway. thanks, dude!

i did wait until his window was all the way rolled up before i started shouting shit at him. makes me think of all the times i’ve slammed on my brakes to avoid hitting people that just sort of step out into the middle of the road into oncoming traffic like it ain’t no big deal. half the time that happens, i don’t even give anybody the bird. let alone say anything.

Bond Car Goes Into Lake - oh my god no more bond car!!

China Protests Target CNN - chinese people are upset that jack cafferty of cnn called them “the same bunch of goons and thugs they’ve been for the last 50 years.” cafferty as well as cnn have since clarified that he didn’t mean that chinese people were goons and thugs… he was talking about the chinese government.

ohhhhhh you meant the government. oh in that case.

i mean if it were me … if someone were to clarify “oh i didn’t mean the American people were goons and thugs, i meant just president bush” – it’s not like i would really object. but to blanketly dismiss 50 years of chinese leadership with two derisive terms? i mean, i don’t know, maybe it has been that bad. but i can still see why they’d still be pissed.
